For academies

Empty mats
are still
an asset.

Your facility has hours it is not earning: mid-morning, early afternoon, between classes. Open the ones you choose to verified athletes — on your terms, under your rules, with your standards visible before anyone walks in.

The part that matters

Open access.
Not open door.

The reason drop-ins are handled by direct message today is control. You want to know who is on your mats, at what level, having agreed to what.

So that is the design constraint, not an afterthought: academies define who may enter, when they may train, which disciplines are allowed and what rules apply. MatUnity is the layer that makes those decisions enforceable and the transaction accountable — it does not decide anything on your behalf.

Also building a coaching roster?

You keep
the standards.

Academy-controlled environment
01

You decide when

Publish a recurring availability pattern once — Tuesday and Thursday, 14:00 to 16:00 — and MatUnity materialises the sessions from it. No hand-creating each occurrence.

02

You decide who

Set the discipline, the minimum experience level and a minimum age per session. An athlete who does not meet the bar never sees a bookable spot.

03

You decide the terms

Your house rules, required equipment and access instructions are shown before payment, never after. Pick one of three standard cancellation policies — flexible, standard or strict.

Getting
listed.

For academies / 05 steps
01

Create your academy page

Name, city, disciplines, photos and the facility details athletes ask about — change rooms, showers, parking, accessibility.

+
02

Submit business verification

Legal business name, authorised representative and your documents. A person at MatUnity reviews it — this is deliberate, not a bottleneck we forgot to automate.

+
03

Show valid liability insurance

Policy number and expiry. Checked on every publish, not once at signup: coverage that lapsed is the same exposure as coverage you never had.

+
04

Define a MatSpace

The bookable training area and its capacity. Most academies start with one; the model supports as many as you have.

+
05

Publish your first MatSession

Once MatUnity approves you. Set capacity and price per athlete, and it appears in search.

+

Anyone can create an academy page in a couple of minutes. Nobody can sell mat time on it until MatUnity has reviewed the business and the insurance behind it. That order is the point.

The money

Held safely.
Paid clearly.

You are paid after the training happens and the dispute window closes — and every amount is separated, so a payout is never a number you have to reverse-engineer.

Athlete pays
Session price, platform service fee and tax, itemised before they confirm.
Funds are held
By the payment provider, in escrow. MatUnity never takes custody of your money.
Session completes
Attendance is recorded at check-in — a session is not successful just because its time passed.
Dispute window closes
Then your earnings become payable.
Payout lands
Transferred to your own connected Stripe account. You see gross, fee, tax, refunds and payout state separately.

Your academy, not just a listing

Included

Your own space

Every academy gets its own area on MatUnity for members, coaches and administrators — with your name and branding, not ours.

Roles that make sense

Invite administrators, coaches and members by email. One person can be an admin here and a coach somewhere else without a second account.

The record of what happened

Attendance, transitions, refunds and administrative actions are all timestamped and auditable. When something is disputed, there is a trail.

Your mats are already there
